We will be attending the IEEE Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee Conference September 16-19, 2024 in Orlando, FL. During the event our Application Engineers will present their paper titled “State of the Art Technologies for Liquid Immersed Power Transformer Online Monitoring” on Wednesday, September 18th. The following day a tutorial will take place based on the presented material. We welcome all who attend the event to take time for both presentations and to discuss the topic in detail with our Engineers.

Gary Hoffman Awarded – 2024 IEEE Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award
Congratulations to Advanced Power Technologies’ President, CEO & CTO, Gary Hoffman, for being awarded the 2024 IEEE Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award.
“For leadership in and development of power systems standards to increase global adoption.”
Gary Hoffman has been an active member within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for over a decade and has continued to bring his leadership skills as well as over 47 years of experience as an engineer to inspire and educate those around him. With a long list of accomplishments such as becoming the Founding Chair of two new Committees and holding positions such as IEEE SA Board of Governors Member Past Chair of the IEEE SA Standards Board, it comes as no surprise that along with winning the Charles Proteus Steinmetz award, Gary has also recently been nominated by the IEEE Standards Association to run for IEEE Standards Association President in the upcoming election.

Product development never stops at Advanced Power Technologies. In the last year we have introduced 2 new electronic temperature monitors, the Total ECLIPSE Plus and Partial ECLIPSE. Each one with its own functionality to best fit the user’s needs and each, like all our monitors, includes a lifetime warranty.
Our goal is to always provide the most reliable transformer monitoring systems at affordable prices as well as providing outstanding customer service and troubleshooting at no additional cost.

Advanced Power Technologies and ABB sign reciprocal service agreement
Advanced Power Technology, a leader in transformer monitoring, announces it has signed a reciprocal service agreement to provide ABB’s advanced encrypted models via its ECLIPSE transformer monitoring that includes Advanced Power Technologies’ GIC core saturation detection capability. ABB and Advanced Power Technologies will co-market to Electric Utilities that have power transformers in service that may be vulnerable to GIC due to a major Geomagnetic Disturbance by predicting core and structural component heating using ABB’s advanced encrypted thermal models.

Advanced Power Technology, a leader in transformer monitoring, announced it has received another patent (9,482,699) to add to its list of technological innovations. This new patent on a novel method for monitoring capacitive bushings while being dielectrically isolated from the bushing tap.
